My 39th Week (The Final Week)

"If you're sitting at your computer reading this... then we're guessing that you probably haven't given birth yet! That's not surprising — only five percent of babies are born on their expected due date. In fact, most doctors will wait another two weeks before considering your baby overdue. Let's hope you won't have to wait too long for the long-anticipated event. Until then, spend some special time with your partner, or, if you have older children, enjoy these days with them. You'll be glad you did once the baby comes." - Babycenter Site

And this is my final week - the 39th week.
I'm due on May 01 - my 40th week. Mix emotions, the nervousness, scary feeling, doubts, yet the exciting feeling for my little angel. Here are the detailed happenings for this momentous week.

April 25, 2011 (Monday)
As usual, weekly check-up for my OB. I went to the clinic and meeting up also there is my kaBunters - Lourdes. She started her weekly check-up with our OB also by this week.

My OB - Doc Darlene was surprised to see me in my 39th week. According to her, I'm supposed to give birth already. And so, she told me that if I won't deliver until the 30th of April, I'll be forced to labor. OMG! She instructed me have my ultrasound on the 29th to check the status of the baby. If the baby's condition is still okay, she'll give me an extension of one (1) week and for her, this is kinda rare. Meaning, it's still possible that I'll deliver within the week. (sigh)

I didn't expect that she'll conduct and IE (gosh! I forgot what an IE means). I was so nervous since it was my first time though. I was so shocked deep inside of what had transpired during my IE session with her. How I wondered what was going on inside of me. Her hand that went inside of me. It was painful and shocking experience as a first timer. After the IE session, she told me that I'm starting to labor since I'm in my one (1) cm already. The IE helps stimulate the labor process and expect that in the next day or two, it will increase until full labor will be experienced. Oh, God! This is really the week for me (crossing my fingers).

After our OB session. Lourdes and I  went to SM to take our walkathon in the mall. Yes! we bonded for the final weeks of our being preggy. We ate at KFC (sounds healthy?) and I shared to her the unexpected IE session with our OB. How we wish that we both could go the normal way of delivery. The promised to breastfeed our babies and avail the cheapest immunization in the barangay health centers. wahahah!

Here are pictures of our final countdown as pregnant classmates. lol!

I love my preggy looks in here. This is my prettiest pic ever I collected during my preggy days. Just don't mind my nose! (Hindi halatang na-shocked sa IE ni doc. hahaha!)

April 26, 2011 (Tuesday)
I woke up at 5:30 o' clock in the morning to pee. I was surprised with the bloody thing I found in my undies. I didn't mind it. Afterall, it was a normal effect after the IE as per Doc Darlene. And so, I went back to bed. But, after almost an hour, I can feel pain in my "puson". I counted the number of minutes of interval of the pain. To note, not already in the 5-8 minutes interval. The pain was quite bearable. But as the pain comes, I am reminded that I was 1 cm yesterday and its possible that it has increased by now that is the pain is all about. And so, I got up from my bed, took a shower and wore a maternity dress ready for admission to the hospital.

Past 7:00 o' clock in the morning and I kept on complaining with the pain I have to my parents. They also readied themselves as they observed that I'm not kidding with the pain. And in less than 30 minutes, we rushed to the hospital.
