Happy Kadayawan 2010!
This year's Kadayawan Celebration, I chose not to go out and witness the "Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan", jam with a lot of invited live bands from Manila, join the street dancing parties, hit the mall or walk down the streets flooded with fruits, not to mention my favorite Durian. Instead, I decided to spend the holidays with my FAMILY...
I truly believe that the festivity does not only mean those things I mentioned above but rather a celebration of FAMILY. Twenty-five (25) years have gone, yet the Kadayawan celebration continues. And it's getting bigger and more festive each year. Surely, this is because amidst our diverse culture and tradition,
we Dabawenyos unite as one family,
we continue to celebrate and show to the world that we are one,
we evolve from one family, one grandfather and grandmother,
we are grateful for them for bringing us here that we continue to celebrate,
we bring back all the thanksgiving for all the blessings we received,
and lastly, we are to pass on the traditions of what our family has taught us to the next generation...
Celebrating the Kadayawan at home or in the streets are all the same.
The very thing is, you know the essence of why you (yourself) celebrate...
How did you celebrate the 25th year Kadayawan sa Davao?
